Sara
Working Group: Social Media & Innovation
Sara is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bologna (Italy), where she obtained her PhD in Environmental Engineering in 2022. Her research focuses on applying Appropriate Technologies and Natural Systems for wastewater treatment and reuse in Low and Middle Income Countries. Actually, she is involved in a project called “WATERGY-Energy efficiency of the Integrated Water Service”, funded by the National Operational Programme on Research and Innovation 2014-2020.
Gianluigi
Working Group: Network Growth, Events, External Relations
Gianluigi is an environmental engineer currently working as a Post-Doc at the University of Cagliari, where he received his Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering and his PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences and Technologies in 2022. Gianluigi works on waste management and valorisation and is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge and passion for these topics with others.
Alice
Working Group: Social Media & Communications
Alice is currently a technician working for an Italian multiutility company.
She obtained a master’s degree in Agri-food Biotechnology at Università di Verona and a PhD in Biotechnology at the same university.
During her research activity, she worked in a multidisciplinary team, ranging from environmental microbiology to bioprocesses engineering. She spent six months in a Belgian company specializing in microbial process optimization for environmental and industrial applications.
Alessandro
Working Group: Network Growth, External Relations, Technical Training
Alessandro is a third-year PhD student from the University of Udine, working with the Integrated Water Cycle sustainability and wastewater recovery. He graduated from the same University with a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering in 2019 and work for an Engineering office during the same year. He is currently dealing with wastewater disinfection through advanced oxidation processes, treatment plant modelling and economic assessments, collaborating with national and international universities.
Elisa
Working Group: Technical training & Innovation
Elisa is a Technical Sales Manager at De Nora Water Treatments for Disinfection and Filtration applications (e.g. Ozone, UV, Electro-Chlorination, etc.) for selected countries in EMEA Region. She graduated at Politecnico di Milano as Environmental and Land Planning Engineer, and then specialized in Remediation writing her Master thesis at University of Chemistry and Technology of Prague in the Erasmus+ framework.
Michela
Working Group: Network Growth, Events, External Relations
Michela is a researcher at ENEA, the National Italian Agency for Energy, Environment, and Sustainable Development since 2018.
She studied at the University of Naples (Italy), where I graduated with honors in Environmental and Land Engineering. She continued her PhD studies in Environmental Engineering at the University of Trento (Italy), under the supervision of Prof. Gianni Andreottola, spending also a period abroad, spent at the Department of Microbiology of the University of Nijmegen (Netherland).
